What we collect

• Your name or nickname — stored on your device only
• Your phone number — used to verify your identity, stored securely in Firebase Authentication
• Your journal entries and mood ratings — stored privately on your device using encrypted storage
• Your chat conversations — stored on your device, sent to our AI service to generate responses, and backed up securely to our cloud to power your memory across sessions
• Your companion name, age range, and profession — stored on your device only
• Your practice session activity — stored on your device only

How we use your data

Your data is used only to make Saaroma work for you. Chat messages are processed by OpenAI to generate responses. Memory summaries are processed by Anthropic. Conversation history is backed up to our secure cloud so Saaroma remembers you across sessions.

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose beyond making your experience better. We do not build a profile of you. We do not sell your data.

Third party services

OpenAI — processes your chat messages to generate responses. Your name and phone number are never shared with OpenAI. See openai.com/privacy.

Anthropic — processes memory summaries only. Your name and phone number are never shared. See anthropic.com/privacy.

Google Firebase — stores your authentication credentials, backs up conversation history, and captures anonymous crash reports. Firebase is ISO 27001, SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3 certified. See policies.google.com/privacy.

You are in control

• Delete your account at any time from the menu — removes all data from device and cloud
• Clear your chat history at any time from the chat screen
• Your journal entries are stored only on your device
• Request deletion of all cloud data by emailing support@saaroma.ai
• We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers

How long we keep your data

Device data is removed when you delete your account or uninstall the app. Cloud conversation data is retained for up to 12 months after your last active session, then permanently deleted. You can request immediate deletion at any time.

Security

All local data uses AES-256 encrypted storage. All data in transit uses HTTPS encryption. Cloud data is stored in Google Firebase, independently audited and certified. Only the Saaroma team has access to conversation data, and only to improve the service.
